Tourism Works for Cedar Hill

When people think about tourism, they often think about visitors. But in Cedar Hill, tourism is about much more than attracting travelers—it's about supporting local businesses, creating jobs, generating revenue, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

According to recent tourism impact data from Dean Runyan Associates, visitors spent $71.3 million in Cedar Hill, supporting 470 local jobs and generating $26.8 million in earnings tied to tourism-related industries throughout the city.

Supporting Local Businesses

Every meal purchased, hotel room booked, attraction visited, and event attended helps support Cedar Hill's local economy. Visitors contribute to the success of restaurants, retail shops, hotels, outdoor recreation providers, and entertainment venues throughout the community.

From Historic Downtown and Hillside Village to The Great Greenway, visitor spending helps local businesses grow while creating opportunities for future investment.

Generating Revenue for Community Priorities

Tourism's impact extends beyond local businesses.

Visitors generated more than $11.6 million in combined local and state tax revenue, including $5.47 million in local tax revenue that helps support essential city services, infrastructure, parks, public safety, and other community investments.

These dollars help strengthen the community while enhancing the amenities enjoyed by both residents and visitors.

Tourism Benefits Residents Too

The same parks, trails, restaurants, events, and public spaces enjoyed by visitors are also enjoyed by residents every day.

"As Cedar Hill continues growing as a destination, we're proud to see tourism contributing to both our local economy and overall quality of life."
